1.
In the dark, in the haze
We grab your hands To lead you through the maze
And treacherous lands We cary for you the burden of knowledge We are here to care
 About your welfare
 Fulfill your desire
Listen to the choir Dance and drink and laugh and play
 Swallow our cheap industry
You don't even have to pray
We'll feed you more than you need Dance and drink and laugh and play
Until death just be happy
Nothing wicked comes this way
You'll never have to worry Hurry up and join the race
Make yourself a plastic face
 Buy yourself a perfect life
Plastic husband, plastic wife It's all safe and clean in here
There is nothing you could fear
 Enjoy syndrom nothingness
Compulsory ugliness Now you have freedom from choice
Just listen to our voice We dig, we build, we craft, we sell
You buy, you eat, you smile, you die We destroy and we rebuild We shape the world for you to live
Peaceful, happy, trust us, love us From the cradle to the grave When our weakness shows
 We will make new vows
 You may find it strange
But nothing will change There is nothing you can do
Because you like it too We will hypnotise
 We will feed you lies
 You'll love to believe
Sweet dreams we will give Sugary drink to sip
And you'll go back to sleep
2.
Boredom, frustration
 Power, submission
 Rat race, alienation
No hope, depression Numb emotions, contradictions, competition, perpetual motion Feeling low ?
Don’t give up on your will to grow
 Stop thinking
 Erase the cause of suffering
 Chemistry
A remedy for misery
 Destruction
Useless synaptic connections I'm going nowhere
 So out of despair
 I swallow the pill
In order to heal Sudden, my sorrow, my anguish,
The burden of my mind, they vanish
I don't feel anything anymore
I'm much more happier than before When I'm feeling low
 The pills I swallow
I no longer care
Chemical welfare

about

The Soothing choir of the Guardian Angels was the first song written when Growth was brought back to life in autumn 2019. The lyrics are taken from an old song of the unreleased album Autolyse, from 2008, but the music was scrapped. It voices a comforting speech from people in power, ensuring that they’ll take care of everything while you can relax and have fun, so that business can keep going as usual.
To form a dyptich, we chose to recreate Chemical welfare, a song that had been released in 2008 (available on the remastered version of Growth and decay of mankind). It shows another facet of this dystopian society, where drugs are used to keep negative thoughts away. This is not meant to be read as a criticism of psychiatry - we are not doctors, and fully incompetent on this topic. Some parts of the music are taken directly from the original version, some are modified, and some are fresh additions.

Remixed and remastered versions of these tracks are available on the Capitalist Supremacy album.
