Worship Him is based on the fact that the fortunes of current billionnaires are worth several million years of minimal wage. This makes them some kind of supernatural entities, much more powerful than us mere mortals. They are here referred to as otherworldly lovecraftian creatures that benevolently grant us a salary, and should be worshipped for that.
The Landlords of chaos are some kind of greedy vampires, flying in every month to suck out your hard-earned money. They have the cops on their side, who will rightfully use the force if you don’t cooperate.
The music of Worship Him is based on an intro and riff from an old project, written back in 2009. It was among the first series of drafts for Growth from autumn 2019. The bulk of Landlords was written in 2019 (titled Flashball), for no specific project, before thinking of bringing Growth back to life. Lyrics, additional music and arrangements for both songs were written in 2020.
